After each session, she was so excited to tell us about her “adventure” with her “best bud” that day and she couldn’t wait till the next session to begin. She wants very much to go back again this spring and can hardly wait to see “her beloved horse” – her “best bud” again. I would highly recommend this program for any child who is dealing with special kinds of emotional or behavioral issues. The smiles on their faces and the excitement in their voices when telling the almost “magical” stories of the special relationship that is developing between not only their “own” horse, but also with their mentors with whom…

My girls learned self confidence and it helped with core strength and balance (for those deprived of food early in their lives, the core is hard to strengthen).  I was so impressed with the love and guidance given by the mentors, horse handlers and even those beautiful horses, that I wanted to share our experience with you!!

Being able to connect with Starbeth has helped me know that the world has not forgotten me. Knowing that there are people who still care about others and are kind even without knowing anything about the person helps to answer many questions that I had. I really hope I get another chance to visit and be around them and work and connect with them.

HorsePower really made me realize how much I love horses again. It was so special to get to know my horse for the time. I didn’t want to say “Goodbye” to her! I’ll always keep my experience and memories from HorsePower with me.

Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to come and have a great time with the horses and mentors. I especially would love the chance to work more with Starbeth, as well as the other horses. I know that I do not fully understand the world or why it hurts people so much but being around the horses and Pepe, lol has been a wonderful and memorable experience. One that I will not forget.

Thank you for teaching me how to ride and groom a donkey and a horse. I was having a bad day until I got there and rode the animals. I enjoyed the food and most of all the people. Thank you for giving me one of the best days this year. See you soon.

HorsePower is an amazing opportunity for our children-especially those with trust/attachment issues!!  For some reason, my son (who suffers from RAD), was able to form a bond with his horse.  He worked really hard during the week towards a GOAL of seeing his horse.  He CARED about his horse!!

My 13 year old granddaughter really benefited from this program a couple of years ago – it was her very first experience with horses “up close and personal”. The issues with which she was dealing were not only very difficult for her, but also for our family. The therapists in her life did what therapists do and the many meds she was taking did their thing, for the most part. But, those were ‘people and things’. My granddaughter loves animals – she even expresses thoughts of becoming a veterinarian. When she and her horse at Horse Power became “best buds” her attitude changed.
